What We're Hearing

There has been much uncertainty and suffering during this moment in time. At Skylight Counseling Center we have been hearing from people from all walks of life who are losing loved ones, fearful about their wellbeing, stressed over being stuck at home, struggling in their relationships, and are now suddenly unemployed. These are trying times for many people in our community and around the world. People have been experiencing trauma and shock at how quickly their lives have changed.

Yet we are also hearing from people who are finding new opportunities in this moment. They are discovering an unexpected depth of resiliency within themselves. They are embracing new methods of coping and are being creative in ways they never have before. In the midst of suffering, they are opening up to new possibilities.

We are coming to see that the gift of this moment is to pause long enough to truly decide, individually and collectively, how we wish to live, how we choose to be, and how we will implement what we choose.

One important component has seemed that we need to stay socially connected even while physically distant. People are reaching out to loved ones and confidants like never before. They are creating new community groups in order to stay bonded together. Supportive and caring relationships seem as vital as ever.

Our counselors at Skylight Counseling Center are part of this community of care. We are available to provide support during this time. If we can help in any way, please know that we are here. We are conducting telehealth sessions via phone and video conferencing in order to keep the care ongoing. These services are covered by insurance and our counselors are prepared to support those who are struggling immediately.

Please feel free to check in with us or reach out at https://www.skylightcounselingcenter.com/ so that we can be a part of your community of care.
